The OneCo base in Kristiansand has just been visited by Deep Cygnus, which is overhauling one of its large winches. The assignment is being carried out for Mac Gregor. The winch and other equipment have been hoisted off the boat and taken into OneCo's assembly halls for overhaul and modification.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In January 2013, OneCo signed an agreement with Mac Gregor for the assembly and installation of advanced lifting systems, at the same time as OneCo took over the operation of the base at And\u00f8ya just outside Kristiansand. The base area consists of a workshop and production halls, as well as a quay with a 35\u00d7185 metre dry dock. In terms of lifting equipment, the quay has two cranes with a lifting capacity of 90 tonnes each, and one crane with a lifting capacity of 600 tonnes.<\/p>\n

Despite the market's focus on cost-cutting and a somewhat declining market, activity at the OneCo base is increasing. Since the start-up at And\u00f8ya, the number of employees has doubled and there has been a significant increase in the order backlog. Capacity for next year, 2015, is starting to fill up, but efforts are now being made to further increase production capacity to be able to take on more assignments from customers who want to utilise the services OneCo can offer at the base.<\/p>\n

At the And\u00f8ya base, operations and production are based on a concept for optimising the production process. Continuous optimisation increases competitiveness and reduces the total implementation cost for customers in the oil and maritime sectors.<\/p>\n

In addition to assembling lifting systems for McGregor, technical services are provided on offshore equipment on behalf of equipment suppliers. OneCo's expertise platform of skilled workers and engineers makes the company a solid system integrator, regardless of the type of equipment.<\/p>\n

The market for advanced cranes for subsea operations is growing as a result of a shift in the market towards subsea installations at ever greater depths. This is squeezing the market for the technologically competent solutions found in certain niches in Norway. OneCo clearly sees this trend continuing and this is reflected in the order books. OneCo has made a special effort to be a skilled supplier in this segment.<\/p>\n

There is also a strong increase in activity around ship calls, and interest in dry-docking ships in particular has risen sharply.<\/p>\n

OneCo has the ability to provide most services when a ship arrives at the base. OneCo performs everything from electrical, instrument, mechanical, welding, sandblasting and painting.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
